Historisch Centrum Limburg (HCL; in English: Historical Center Limburg) is a merger of the state repository in the capital of the province Limburg, the municipal repository of Maastricht and the municipal repository of Heerlen. The municipalities of Heerlen and Maastricht, together with the national government, are the administrative partners in the Joint Regulation 'Gemeenschappelijke regeling Historisch Centrum Limburg 2020'. By this joint regulation, HCL is a public body and therefore a public-law organization.
